Alice in Wonderland And Rock&Roll Inspired Top Interior Designer
James Dawson is a top interior designerdescribed as the ‘dark horse’ of the interior design industry as he continues to create unique, sophisticated and luxurious spaces for his discerning clients. Drawing his talent from the Parisian influences, as well as the study of arts and interior architecture, James’ eye for all things natural and beautiful is resembled in each of his projects. Each work is imbued with life and vision and creates a deep emotional chord for his clients, says James.
James Dawson describes is own style as “Alice in Wonderland meets Rock&Roll”. We loved this description because it fits perfectly the ambiance that his interiors transmit. A fantastic world painted in black and white.
Now of course we had to show you this amazing sideboard that Dawson chose for one of his interior design works. Even though it’s very simple, it is very sophisticated and the dark glass top is the perfect touch.
Here’s a cabinet with which we feel in love immediately. All made with marble and with gold beautiful details.
“I would say the materials I use combined with my passion of playing with strong lines and shapes help create my signature style. When I was young Architects like Mario Botta and Design movements like the Memphis era fascinated me and has added a positive influence to how I see and create interiors. I use a lot of wood, Bronze and marbles as core elements and build the space around these adding in additional texture and tones as layers” explains the interior designer.
“I love what I do – so my philosophy is to work, work and more work! I’m not really good at creating a work life balance. I wear a number of hats in my business with the Interior Design side thriving, developing and recently opening the Dawson School of Design and also preparing to launch in early 2016 a number of delicious lifestyle products like vases, cushions, desk boxes, bedding to mentioned just a few items all made in Australia and out of the materials I love to obsess over like marbles, burnt wood, hand glazed porcelain, bronze etc. I end up working probably much more than the normal work hours in a week”.
