Mathieu Lehanneur is one of the few french interior designers of his generation who can embrace as many different fields beyond the luxury furniture.
He innovates with objects and magic architectures that brew design, science, art, and technology for the well-being of its users. Water, sound, and light are his favorite material. He is inspired by nature, has the ability to turn marble into water, revitalize furniture, enslave gravity.
“Everything is liquid in this space, evanescent, enlightened, and yet it is executed in a material that is one of the most solid imaginable,” said the designer.
Lehanneur pushes the limits of design through his exploration of new technologies, using marble and bronze, Lehanneur created sideboards, cabinets, tables and benches that play with the balance between the geometric and the organic, each piece exploring the fluid transition between these two states of matter.
Lehanneur is considered one of the ‘100 World top designers.
His works can be found in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, Les Arts Decoratifs in Paris, and at the Design Museum Ghent.
