The new project has an appearance that seems to play with our visual perception: “A form featuring movement and balance, the Walking Cabinet seems almost like a playful and harmonic dance.
Legs twist in different directions on the pavement; the cabinet seems to pose a life of its own, en route to some other place“. It does seem to have a life of its own!
Contrary to all belief, the eye-catching design of this furniture unit is also very practical: “The twisted form allows not only for a centerpiece, the Walking Cabinet allows for the addition of two or more cabinets in a module system which invites new configurations and forms“.
Its size and shape make it easy to move from one room to the next and its simple, yet creative look goes hand in hand with a variety of contemporary interiors. Find it appealing?
Markus Johansson design studio is located in central Gothenburg. They are working in segments of products, furniture, graphics and interior design. They try to find inspiration from various environments stretching from the human to the artifact, through analyzing and processes. Their vision is to combine construction, function, and form to enrich the everyday experience. Environmental thinking is, of course, important, but shouldn’t hinder creativity.
Another amazing cabinet designed by Markus Johansson is called SAPPHIRE, and is a cocky and courageous character, with its strong visual expression it produces the patterns to find harmony and playfulness. It is just as stable and secure in its privacy but also socializes well with others.
