The Feminine ‘Elizabeth’ Cabinet by Nathalie Dewez
Fundamental is the special bending technique developed by the Castelli for the cabinet ‘Elizabeth’ by Nathalie Dewez. A plissé hat, like fabric, gives energy rhythm and feminine allure to the modern cabinet. The thin metal sheet gains strictly defined shapes. Elegant on its small feet, the polished copper finish creates vibrant and uniquecontemporary designreflections.
Nathalie Dewez is atop designer whose main medium is light and whose materials vary between the metal, glass, and another long-lasting medium. Whether designing light fixtures, objects, furnishings, or large-scale sculptures, she also works as a consultant in Lighting for several modern design architecture offices.
Nathalie Dewez lives and works in Brussels. Having graduated from the école des Arts Visuels de La Cambre in 2001, the main focus of her work is lighting and product design. A mélange of poetry and rigor, her chandeliers, wall lights, and floor lamps are light and airy, exploiting the potential of the chosen material to the very maximum.
