If you are a design-lover, Buffets and Cabinets gives you an opportunity to explore one of the most iconicfurniture pieces designed by Matteo Cibic.
From the Trojan Horse of ancient Greek mythology to the Alexander Mosaic (circa 100 B.C.) depicting the Battle of Issus, all the way to the essential plasticity of signature works by 20th-century Italian sculptor/painter Marino Marini, Matteo Cibic’s research has led to the creation of three art furnituresculptures – Black Beauty, Jolly Jumper, Gunpowder – that celebrate the horse in the role of the nostalgic icon. These modern furniturepieces are made with brass and denim, the sculptures conceal a secrétaire under the leather saddle and find a contemporary design function in the realms of high society and experimental music.
As one of the best product designerson the planet, Matteo Cibic is recognized for his objects with hybrid functions and anthropomorphic and joyful shapes. He works indiscriminately with industrial processes and small artisans, for luxury brands, collectors, and hi-tech companies. Furthermore, his creative works are displayed in museums, institutions, and contemporary art galleries worldwide.
