Pinch is the collaboration between husband and wife team Russell Pinch and Oona Bannon and is run from their studio/showroom in Clapham, London.
Their work celebrates simplicity of form, the purity of a good shape and their emotional connection with the materials around them. They live in a cluttered world and understand that any furniture or product has to work very hard to win its place. They believe in poetic design, making beautiful things, pieces that endure, inspire and aspire to be inherited. They refine and refine their designs until they feel they have arrived at their idea of perfection, but they seek to leave them with a lightness of touch. The manner in which the pieces are produced is as important to them as the designs themselves and they manufacture with a serious commitment to quality and attention to detail and finish.
In 2004 Russel and Oona started PINCH with a single aim; to design and make furniture and lighting that they would want to live with. They set their sights on what they would want to surround themselves with. they indulged themselves in the detail and didn’t compromise on the materials. The result is their growing collection and they have been nominated for, and to have won, design awards along the way.
